Food Truck Fridays at Roger Williams Park Carousel

Start your weekend off with the best place to visit Food Trucks in Rhode Island! Head to the Carousel Village in Roger Williams Park. Invite your family and friends and leave the cooking to us. Brought to you by Roger Williams Park Zoo, Roger Williams Carousel Village, and Food Trucks In PVD. Presented by A.B. Munroe Dairy, New York Life Rhode Island Office, and Solar City Rhode Island

Enjoy a smorgasbord of great food from some of the area’s best food trucks, ride the carousel and explore Hasbro Boundless Playground.  Enjoy local beer from Trinity Brewhouse. Ride the carousel, and enjoy all that Carousel Village has to offer! Something for everyone!   Admission to the event is free!

There are over 20 picnic tables throughout the Carousel Village, but hey fill up quickly. Bring blankets and chairs. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy all that this event and Carousel Village has to offer.

Bring Your Own Improv’s Family Friendly Show

Bring Your Own Improv (BYOI) is now in its ninth season! This interactive improv show welcomes voluntary audience participation! You can participate in one of three ways: Applaud at a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you’re ready, jump up and get involved with us on stage!!!

Afrika Nyaga Drum & Dance Festival

Co-produced by Sidy Maiga and the Downtown Providence Parks Conservancy, this event showcases the music and dance of Africa and the diaspora.

Performances include a drum circle by PVD Fest headliner Sidy Maiga, music by Afrimanding and the Reggae group Natural Element, a Sabar drum group with Babacar Diery from Senegal, the local break dance crew RawKin’ RhythMix, and more!

Burnside Park will be activated with music, dance, food and activities for all ages. The Imagination Center will be set up with shelves of children’s books, arts and crafts materials, and our prop kit full of fun costumes!

This is a FREE, family friendly event. Come on down and bring the whole family.

The Illuminations of Life Torch Ceremony will begin on the Statehouse steps at sunset and the torches will arrive in Waterplace Basin approximately 45 minutes later. Follow @waterfireprov on Twitter for breaking updates during the event. All Full WaterFire installations light up over eighty braziers from Waterplace Park to Memorial/South Main Street Park on the below scheduled evenings. Lighting begins shortly after sunset and the event continues until half past midnight.
