Meeting, “her”

dress

I really can’t believe how quickly my wedding dress came in.  When one of the lovely ladies at Alexandra’s Bridal Boutique called to tell me the news i was shocked.  Typically people say to shop for your dress about nine months to one year out from your wedding date.  For some that’s the first thing they do- even before a venue is picked.  For me- i definitely did my research…aka…i stalked wedding designer’s instagram accounts and pinned until i couldn’t pin anymore on Pintrest.  I picked my dress out in June; about 10 months before my wedding date. I got a call at the end of August that my dress had come in- a little under three months later!  i couldn’t believe, “she” was already here.  Yes- i am the creep that has given my dress pronouns.  Example: when i was telling people where i was going on Tuesday night i said, “im going to meet her.”

I was worried that i wouldn’t feel the same about the dress as i did a few months prior when i first purchased it.  Luckily- as soon as i put it on- complete with the veil- i iked it MORE than when i first picked it out.  Now i’m stalking my own photos (in a private folder of course.  PS: if you ever need to hide photos from anyone (because that doesn’t sound sketchy at all) download the Photo Vault app…it’s a good way for me to hide the pics from my fiance.

Once again- the staff at Alexandra’s exceeded all of my dress-pectations.  Christine, one of the fab consultants, helped me in and out of my dress (it’s always humbling to be half naked in front of someone you just met) and capped off our visit with champagne for my mom and i.

If you head to Alexandra’s soon you’ll also see this month’s amazing Halloween window display- that’s worth a visit alone.

The next time i see, “her” is for my first fitting in February.  AKA #ShreddingFortheWedding begins now.  For more info on Alexandra’s Bridal Boutique click here.
