New England Patriots long-snapper Joe Cardona was promoted to the rank of lieutenant in the Navy on Thursday during a ceremony at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.Cardona, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, was promoted from lieutenant junior grade.
