Pete Davidson Posts Disturbing Words; Deletes IG Account

Update:  Ariana, who mostly resides in NY, is at 30 Rock to see Pete.  She tweeted that she was downstairs and that if he needed anyone or anything…she was there.

She has since deleted several of her tweets.

t’s been a whirlwind 24 hours with celebrities and posting about mental illness.  I’m not sure if the following could be all tied together but I will do my best to make sense of it.

By now you know that Kanye went on an epic Twitter battle cry- calling out (mostly) Drake for his antics of the last year. This led Ariana Grande to feel compelled to post about grown men arguing (technically it was just one grown man) to make way for the ladies (Grande and Miley Cyrus) to release new music.  I guess I get where she was going- but the internet is vast and has room for everyone.

Let’s remember that Grande had Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner featured in her recent video for, “Thank u Next”- a move that nearly broke the internet.

ANYWAY.  This morning Kanye (in a very Kanye way) responded to Ariana by saying “you know I got love for you (and here comes the infamous, “but”) BUT until you’re ready to really make sure everyone’s ok don’t use me or this moment to promote a song.  This, i’m sure, struck a chord with Grande whose ex Pete Davidson suffers from mental illness. Ariana seemed to respond in a (since deleted) tweet about weaponizing mental health.

Which leads us to today’s most current event.

Pete Davidson, who has posted concerning messages before–posted the following:

“I really dont want to be on this earth anymore.  Im doing my best to stay here for you but I actually dont know how much longer I can last.  all I’ve ever tried to do was help people.  just remember I told you so.”

His IG account has seemingly since been deleted.  I’ve been reading that he’s currently at SNL and rehearsing for tonights show.  I can only hope his SNL family is rallying around him during what seems like a difficult and delicate time.  Longtime SNL head Lorne Michaels knows all to well about loosing his talent in tragic ways- I’m sure he’s offering his support as well.

If you or anyone you know is suffering in a similar way…please call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.
