MTV will be honoring Rihanna for the work she has done in the music biz thus far. According to Billboard, Ri will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards later this month. Rihanna took to Instagram to thank MTV for the acknowledgment and said, “Honored to take the #VMAs stage as this year’s Michael Jackson Video #VANGUARD award recipient on August 28!!” Past recipients of the award include Justin Timberlake, Beyonce and Kanye West. The upcoming MTV VMAs is scheduled to air on August 28th.
